Responsibilities

Ascension is looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager within our Engagement Services department to lead product development on the Salesforce platform.

You will be leading a team of software engineers that are passionate about building products that serve using state-of-the-art solutions and tools. You will work closely with the product manager, user experience manager, and your software engineering team. Engaging your experience and software engineering expertise to solve complex problems, deliver highly scalable, quality software solutions while also mentoring and growing your team members. Equally important will be your continual growth and development as a software engineering professional.

Responsibilities :

  • Build a high-performing software engineering team
  • Enable your team's success, and clear blockers
  • Ensure that the team’s product implements high quality code supporting software engineering standards, architecture and software best practices with support for test automation
  • Regularly participate in scrum activities, design reviews, code reviews and status updates
  • Champion product and process compliance, and engage in all aspects of the project from design, build, test and ultimately implementation
  • Evaluate effectiveness of implemented solutions to inform future trade-off decisions
  • Coordinate on-call support for your product or teams, triage inbound support tickets as needed, and prioritize work effectively
  • Engage in vision casting, strategic thinking and goal setting with the team. Then, motivate and focus the team to meet these goals and objectives
  • Technical mentorship & coaching of team members
  • Ability to perform under pressure, instill accountability and achieve results with minimal oversight and direction
  • Engage in highly effective interviews, and provide / shares critical feedback that drives a go / no-go decision regarding a candidate
  • Communicate project status in a clear, concise and timely manner with supporting product adoption and health metrics as needed.
  • Monitor the software industry for emerging trends, tools, and best practices, while weeding out the noise
  • Required Experience / Skills :

  • 7 years of professional software development experience with 2 years of leadership or management experience
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud required.
  • 3 years experience and expert in designing, developing, and consuming Restful API’s.
  • Experience in designing and developing complex, scalable, performant and user experience-centered solutions on the Salesforce platform.
  • Expertise in microservice architectural patterns and design
  • Expertise in Salesforce configuration and programmatic customization.
  • Expert-level understanding of relational databases
  • Fluency in a high-level Object-oriented programming language and strong knowledge of OOAD, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience implementing APIs, bringing data to and from the Salesforce platform
  • Experience working on a Scrum team participating in Agile ceremonies e.g. daily standups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint demos / retrospectives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Work Experience :

  • 3 years of experience required.
  • 5 years of experience preferred.
  • 1 year of leadership or management experience preferred.

  • Requirements

    Education :

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Programming or substantially related field is required.
  • High school diploma / GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.
  • Work Experience :

  • 3 years of experience required.
  • 5 years of experience preferred.
  • 1 year of leadership or management experience preferred.
  • Additional Preferences :

  • Experience with Sitecore
  • Experience with TDD
  • Experience with PCF and GCP
  • Experience with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR)
