Dell Children's Medical Group is looking for a Full Time Pediatric Infectious Disease Physician for our pediatric hospital.

Position Highlights :

The Pediatric Infectious Disease Section at Dell Children's Medical Center is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Infectious Disease specialist with expertise in immunocompromised and transplant medicine. We are a busy and productive Pediatric Infectious Disease practice that includes 3 full time physicians, 1 part-time physician and 4 Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
Dell Children's Medical Center is a pediatric acute care hospital with 220 beds including 30 in Level 4 NICU and 24 beds in CCU and PICU. We are also the only Level I pediatric trauma center in the Central Texas region and affiliated with The University of Austin Dell Medical School.

Responsibilities :

Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

Provide clinical consultation on inpatient service, Infectious Disease clinic, and formulation of the immunocompromised Infectious Disease service in conjunction with Hematology Oncology, Renal, Cardiovascular, Gastroenterology programs

Provide teaching rotations for Pediatric Residents / Medical Students from Dell Medical School as well as other institutions.

Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management.

Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.

Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and / or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.

Participates in DMS Department of Pediatrics and DCMG academic committees programs (e.g. medical education, administration and research) as requested.
