Ascension Seton is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Stroke/Vascular Neurologist to join Seton Brain and Spine Institute with a fast-growing Austin Texas market.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Seton to provide medical services to patients.
Position Highlights:
- Stroke service as part of dedicated neurohospitalist team; may cross-cover at Ascension Seton Williamson (ASW) & Ascension Seton Hays (ASH) as part of network coverage plan
- Daily rounds on patients; predominantly consult service
- May include limited outpatient stroke clinic presence
- DSMCUT is a Level I Trauma Center (ACS) and Comprehensive Stroke Center (DNV)
- ASMCA is a Level IV Trauma Center (Texas DSHS) and thrombectomy-capable or PSC (DNV)
- ASW is an established DNV thrombectomy-capable or PSC in North Austin
- ASH is an established DNC PSC in South Austin
- Faculty Appointment with Dell Medical School available
- Dell Medical School Neurosurgery Residency Affiliation
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management.
- Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
- Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
- Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
