- Supervises cafeteria personnel to include all normal human resources accountabilities, such as, performance evaluations and preparation of daily production sheets.
- Maintains all records pertaining to cafeteria operations to include financial accountability for all cash deposits.
- Monitors and supervises all food preparation activities and monitors food quality.
- Prepares all food orders and manages all inventory control responsibilities.
- Trains employees regarding practices and procedures of SFS programs.
- Participates in all required in-service training sessions.
- Handles all customer service activities related to cafeteria operations.
- Assists with food serving when required.
- Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external customers including students, parents, co-workers, etc. Schedules and/or attends conferences with parents, when appropriate. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional manner to develop cooperative relationships and to ensure that student and employee records confidentiality is assured.
- Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance, e.g. expense management. Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
- Reports accidents, completes all necessary paperwork related to accidents, and assists with first aid.
- Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Orients new co-workers and actively supports teamwork throughout the school system.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Also receives indirect supervision from the Principal.

Job Description
II. SUMMARY OF POSITION’S PURPOSE
Provides supervisory support services to all cafeteria personnel to ensure that all students/teachers receive a quality meal that meets federal, state, and local requirements.
III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION – High School Diploma or its equivalent and successful completion of the Management Certification in Phases 1, 2, and 3.
B. EXPERIENCE – Minimum of 3 years in a cafeteria environment with at least 1 year in a supervisory position or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
C. SKILLS – Must possess basic managerial skills, in-depth knowledge of school cafeteria operations.D. OTHER REQUIREMENTS – Must be physically capable of lifting in excess of 25 pounds on a continual basis. This position requires sustained manual dexterity with close mental/visual attention and the ability to perform job functions in a standing position for a majority of the workday. This position is exposed to environmental and temperature extremes, chemicals and odors. Must be free of any infectious or communicable diseases which, according to the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, poses a risk of transmission through the handling of food.
