    MNT-3 Stipend

    FLSA STATUS:
    Non-Exempt
    ASSIGNMENT PERIOD
    260 days

    II. SUMMARY OF POSITION’S PURPOSE


    Provides lead support to the Facility Manager’s position to ensure that school premises are properly maintained by providing basic custodial services.

    III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION - High School Diploma or its equivalent.
    • EXPERIENCE - 1 year of Custodian experience.
    • SKILLS - Excellent knowledge of tools and skills related to building maintenance. Organizational and basic supervisory skills are also required.
    • OTHER REQUIREMENTS - Must be capable of lifting 25 or more pounds on a daily basis. This position requires exposure to heat/cold/chemicals on a daily basis. Climbing, dexterity and the ability to work in a standing position are daily requirements of this position.


    IV. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides lead support to the Facility manager and Custodian position(s).
    • Cleans classrooms and restrooms to include vacuuming carpeted areas and providing routine custodial maintenance of athletic facilities.
    • Provides routine maintenance to include, changing light bulbs, and handling touch-up paint jobs.
    • Dust mops hallways.
    • Picks up litter on school premises and empties garbage cans.
    • Locks and unlocks school buildings.
    • Assists the principal, assistant principal and teachers with routine maintenance and delivery tasks.
    • Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external customers including students, parents, co-workers, etc. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional manner to develop cooperative relationships and to ensure that student and employee records confidentiality is assured.
    • Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance, e.g. expense management. Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
    • Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Assist co-workers and actively supports teamwork throughout the school system.
    • Performs other services as required.
    • Reports to multiple sites daily.
    • Expected to attend leadership classes with future facility manager training.
    • Fill in where for absent facility manager when/if they are on leave.
    • Take leadership role in facility managers’ absence at middle and high school campuses.
