POSITION SUMMARY:

Working in a SUD (Substance Use Disorder) Treatment Program the Peer Support Specialist/Client Support ensures that client’s needs are met and that the clients are following the rules set forth in the program guidelines while ensuring their safety. It is our mission to provide the most therapeutic and safe environment for treatment as possible. It is our responsibility to be courteous, respectful, and professional always when interacting with clients and other staff. They may be required to facilitate groups and meet with clients in a individual setting. The qualified individuals must be willing to work any shift with occasional change in weekly schedule. The client support specialist will complete task in accordance with company policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
- KY peer support certified
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree preferred
- Experience working with various funding streams and ability to collaborate with our billing department, preferred
- Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution; can be post hire
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Valid KY Driver’s License
SKILL SETS:

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
- Verify legal intake is properly performed
- Communicate with other departments
- Maintain and print clinical rosters and structured group rosters
- Lead structured groups.
- Assist clients in getting aftercare housing upon completion of treatment
- Create discipleship board thread as well as participate in in-person discipleship boards
- Discuss incident reports with clients as well as any discipline involved to correct actions
- Coordinate safety concerns involving clients with other departments
- Communicate with clinical staff regarding client’s needs
- Upload legal documents to KIPU
- Maintain probation and parole list and assist in monthly monitoring meetings
- Maintain transition email information for individual clients
- Monitor “Teams” and address any questions pertaining to the case department
- Coordinate with the families and assist in addressing client/family needs
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with clients and staff and ALL times
- Follow directives of Program Staff and/or House Manager.
- Any and all other program responsibilities outlined by the House Manager or Clinical/Program Director.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Have a current or past diagnosis of a mental health, substance use, or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Have received or be receiving treatment.
- Have a minimum educational requirement of a high school diploma or General Equivalence Diploma (GED) certificate.
- Demonstrate a pattern of recovery from mental health, substance use, or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder.
- Successfully compete adult peer support specialist training approved by the Department
· Adheres to Ascension Center for Recovery policies and procedures.
· Attends mandatory in-services and other training/educational programs as required.
