JOB PURPOSE
To supervise and plan the day to day operation of all Material operations at Ascent Aviation Solutions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, climbing and lifting, bending, reaching to shoulder level, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 25 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Equipment Operated: Forklift, personal computer, copy machine.
Work Location: Hangars and stock rooms.
Potential Hazards: Exposure to materials identified on Safety Data Sheets.
Protective Equipment Required: Safety shoes, hearing protection, eye protection.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
- Identifies, controls, segregates, and maintains all serviceable and unserviceable stock items as designated by the Sr. Planner/Buyer
- Ensures adequate inventories are maintained.
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of workers to include preparing weekly work schedules, Right person right job, manages overtime.
- Conducts job interviews with perspective applicants
- Provides guidance and training to the Material Clerks.
- Upholds company policies and procedures.
- Maintains a safe work environment.
- Ensures that all company paperwork is completed, filed and retained.
- Maintains the MRB System.
- Maintains familiarity with the Ascent Aviation Inspection Procedures Manual.
- Maintains communication within their area of responsibility, keeping employees informed as to day-to-day operation, future and current events.
- Promotes a Team Concept environment.
- Conducts Performance Reviews and Disciplinary Counseling.
- Prepares and distributes Material Reports as required by the Sr. Planner/Buyer
- Supervises and prepares Hazardous Materials for shipment.
Marginal Job Functions:
- Ensure that all work performed is done in a safe manner. Directs activities to protect employees from harm and maintain safe working conditions.
SMS REQUIREMENTS
- Will monitor and ensure SMS compliance, safe workplace initiatives/practices are followed, and to eliminate health hazards.
- Will enforce safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance, equipment operation requirements, safety reporting and provide resources to eliminate hazardous conditions.
- Will implement approved safety suggestions and solutions for achieving a safer, healthier workplace.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must possess knowledge of Aircraft Parts, Inventory Control and related software. Computer Skill to include knowledge of Excel, MS Word and inventory management systems. Ability to read, write and understand the English language. Must be able to obtain 49CFR, IATA, IMDG and Radiological Hazardous Material Shipping certification.
Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Three years previous material experience required.
Certificates/Licenses: Valid drivers license required.
Other: May be required to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate.
