Work Hours/Days:
Part-Time, Seasonal Practice/game days,
Season: Winter- December thru March
Stipend pay: $500.00 one-time payout at the end of the season
Position Summary:
Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County is seeking a dedicated Middle School Assistant Coach to support the head coach in developing student-athletes in both skill and character. Responsibilities include assisting with practice planning, skill development, game strategy, and fostering a positive team environment aligned with the school's classical education values. Candidates should have experience in coaching or playing the sport, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to student growth. This is a part-time, seasonal position.Key Responsibilities.
- Instruct and work with athletes with guidance from the head coach to prepare them for competition
- The Assistant Coach reports to the Head Track Coach and Athletic Director and is responsible for assisting with the coaching program
- Demonstrate leadership by implementing of expectations and direction of the program
- Preparation of team for competition
- Attend all practices and games
- Assist with set up and take down of equipment for practices and games
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous coaching experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the sport
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Concussion Training or willing to obtain
- Loyalty to the school and ACA's mission and vision
- Commitment to model moral character in line with the school's core virtues
- Adherence to all ACA policies, including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, Family Handbook, and all applicable school and board policies
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Satisfactory background check is required by state law and Colorado Department of Education
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to traverse the sports complex, field, or court indoors and/or outdoors
