Position Summary :
Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Colorado is seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in alignment with the school's classical education model. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for managing a caseload of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and implementing best practices in special education.
This role involves working closely with general education teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized instructional plans that support student success. The Special Education Teacher will provide direct instruction in one-on-one and small-group settings, assist with behavior management strategies, and promote student inclusion in general education classrooms..

Essential Functions :
- Maintain special education caseload with compliant timelines and best practice
Provide one-on-one or small group support to reinforce lessons and concepts
Tailor educational plans to meet each student's unique needs, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulationsWork closely with general education teachers, special education staff, parents, and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and ensure the best outcomes for students. This involves regular meetings, clear documentation, and effective use of technology to share updates on student progressHelp manage student behavior by using positive behavior strategies and interventionsMonitor and support students in maintaining appropriate behaviors in various settings, including the classroom, cafeteria, and playgroundImplement behavior management plansAssist in setting up and organizing classroom materials and resourcesSupport students with organizational and study skills, including note-taking, task completion, and time managementCollect and record data on student performance and behaviorAssist in monitoring student progress toward IEP goalsMaintain accurate and confidential records of student information and interactionsProvide support with daily living skills, such as feeding, toileting, and mobility, if requiredAssist with the use of adaptive equipment or technologyParticipate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunitiesSupport students in developing social skills and peer relationshipsPromote inclusion by facilitating student participation in general education classrooms and school activitiesAssist in maintaining a safe environment for studentsBe prepared to respond to emergencies, following school protocols and providing necessary supportDemonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operationsOther duties as assignedRequired Skills / Abilities :

Salary : $47,000 - $65,000
