ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to identify maintenance and repair issues and initiate work orders.
- Reports and follows up on maintenance deficiencies.
- Complete work orders and all necessary assigned repairs
- Performs preventive maintenance and maintains mechanical logs in an organized manner.
- Resolves guest’s problems and handles all guest requests in a timely manner and according to hotel standards.
- Complete the duty rounds checklists and corrects noted problems.
- Responsible for correct use of office equipment, EMS system and Life Safety Systems, (training provided).
- Willing to be cross-trained in all aspects of the department.
- Initiates and maintains effective communication with operational areas.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Previous experience or training in a similar role preferred.
- Must be organized and have good time management skills.
- Must have the ability to understand, read, write and speak English and communicate with guests and Team Members of other departments.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must be able to take direction, understand and carry out instructions given.
- Must have the ability to comply in standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to work without constant supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand or walk for long periods of time; use arms, hands and legs repetitively;
handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to at various heights on ladders, roofs etc.
- May be routinely required to lift and / or move weight up to 50 pounds, and move or lift weight in excess of 50 pounds using the proper equipment and resources.
- Must be capable of effectively using close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
- Ability to operate in physically stressful situations
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee often works near moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but could become loud from time to time.
- Must be able to work routinely with various chemicals, cleaning supplies, paint and painting solutions in conjunction with the proper use of safety supplies and equipment.
- May be frequently exposed to dust or mold.
- Assigned work may be indoors and / or outdoors and in possible inclement weather.
- During winter months may be required to shovel snow.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS :
- High school education or equivalent is required. Some college preferred.
- Preferred 1 year related experience or training.
- Must be able to work well in team environment
