Position Summary:
Ascent Industries Co. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee and drive key human resources functions aligned with our People & Culture Strategy. This critical role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in employee relations, compensation and benefits, corporate HR processes in both union and non-union environments. The Human Resources Manager will serve as a strategic partner, supporting both the local workforce and corporate initiatives, while also managing generalist responsibilities to ensure smooth HR operations. The ideal candidate must also be open to some regional travel to support HR needs across other locations.
Key Responsibilities:

HR Strategy & Corporate Partnership:
- Collaborate with corporate HR and senior business leaders to align local HR strategies with organizational goals.
- Act as a trusted advisor, partnering with managers and leaders to build their leadership capabilities, providing coaching and feedback to enhance their effectiveness.
- Analyze HR metrics and data to provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Serve as a key resource for implementing corporate HR programs, policies, and initiatives.

HR Generalist Duties:
- Administer day-to-day HR functions, including employee onboarding, offboarding, training, and development.
- Manage recruitment efforts in collaboration with corporate HR, ensuring a strong pipeline of talent to support the business.

Employee Relations:
- Lead and manage all employee relations matters, including handling grievances and resolving conflicts in a fair and compliant manner.
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing guidance on performance issues, workplace policies, and practices.

Talent Management:
- Support the talent acquisition process by partnering with hiring managers and recruitment teams to attract and retain top talent.
- Oversee performance management and development processes, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Oversee compensation cycles, including salary planning, merit increases, and benchmarking.
- Partner with corporate HR to manage annual benefits enrollment and employee needs.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies.

- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and development.

Union & Non-Union Labor Relations:
- Effectively navigate unionized work environments, including negotiating labor agreements, managing union relations, and ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Support non-union environments by proactively addressing employee concerns and maintaining a high level of engagement and morale.

Regional Travel:
- Travel to other locations within the region as needed to provide HR support and ensure consistency in policies, practices, and employee relations.

Additional Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the HR function and organizational needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 12 to 15 years of progressive HR experience, with a proven track record of managing both union and non-union workforces.
- Expertise in employee relations, grievance management, compensation, and benefits.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and compliance requirements.
- Corporate HR experience with the ability to effectively support both site-level and corporate initiatives.
- Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and judgment skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification.
- Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
