Maintenance Technician

Position Overview:

As a Maintenance Technician at Ascent Industries, you will play a key role in ensuring the operational reliability and safety of our equipment and facilities. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of industrial equipment while adhering to company policies and safety standards. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities

A. Company Standards

• Understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Read and follow written procedures (in English) for equipment maintenance.
• Follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors, management, and engineering teams.
• Perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Maintain compliance with attendance policies and procedures.

B. Safety and Environmental Compliance

• Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly and effectively.
• Read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to identify chemical handling hazards.
• Adhere to company emergency procedures and policies for line breaks, hot work, Lock Out/Tag Out, and confined spaces.
• Report all unsafe conditions to supervisors and/or management immediately.

C. Maintenance Work Responsibilities

• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations while performing duties in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
• Possess thorough knowledge of safety protocols, equipment operations, and maintenance procedures.
• Execute tasks outlined in the company’s Quality Management System “Work Instructions.”
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment including, but not limited to:
• Tube Mills
• Tube finishing equipment
• Overhead cranes
• Pumps, motors, and gearboxes
• Electrical panels and facility systems
• Conduct preventive maintenance according to schedules to ensure equipment reliability.
• Inspect completed repair work to ensure accuracy and functionality.
• Document work progress and completion using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Report any preventive or corrective action concerns immediately.
• Assist with inventory management and ensure adequate stock of replacement parts and supplies.
• Safely clean spills and dispose of waste in compliance with company procedures.
• Notify supervisors promptly and accurately upon completion of repairs.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervision or management.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

Required:

• Ability to work first shift.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Availability for ‘on-call’ work outside of normal hours.
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
• Experience using a CMMS system on a PC or tablet for work orders.
• Willingness to support both Troutman, NC, and Statesville, NC locations.

Preferred:

• Strong electrical skills.
• Mechanical, fabrication, and machining skills.
• Ownership of basic tools for maintenance work.
