What are the responsibilities and job description for the Measurement Technician position at Ascent Resources?
Ascent Resources is seeking an experienced Measurement Technician. This position is located in the Cambridge, OH field office and will report to the Measurement Supervisor.
This position is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electronic flow meters in the field in accordance with accepted industry standards, equipment specifications, contract requirements and company best management practices.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Testing and calibrating electronic flow meters in the field
o Preparation and input of test reports each month on a timely basis into TESTit
o Responsible for maintaining all tools and equipment necessary on truck to do the job
• Witnessing field tests and calibrations of downstream pipelines
• Gas sampling
• Troubleshooting – investigating measurement variances; replacement of non-functional flow meters, remote temperature devices and damaged orifice plates; perform maintenance and repair of senior fittings; remove fluid/hydrates/buildup/debris from measurement equipment
• Assist Instrument & Electronics Technicians as necessary for equipment installations/modifications
• Communicate with Lease Operators when testing/maintenance will occur
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Minimum Requirements:
• Working knowledge of oil and gas production basics
• Understanding of fundamental mathematics
• Ability to identify potential hazards in the field (related to oil & gas)
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
• Attention to detail
Preferred:
• Understanding of basic principles of gas measurement
Education & Work Experience Required
Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma
• 3 years of industry experience
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and Outlook
Preferred:
• Associates (2 year) or Technical Degree
• Gas measurement experience
• Gas pipeline operations experience
