Ascentec Engineering is hiring a Shop Foreman for our Dallas, Oregon location. We are rapidly growing and are excited to add a leader to our dynamic and growing aerospace precision machining facility.
The Shop Foreman will be responsible for leading, directing, and coordinating day-to-day functions for our manufacturing staff. This role will work cross-functionally with other departments, such as: quality, materials, packaging and shipping, engineering, human resources, etc., to ensure that daily needs of manufacturing are met.
This position is on-site at our Dallas, Oregon location (not remote or hybrid) and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Requirements
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To include but not limited to the following:
- Ensures manufacturing staff achieves daily, weekly, monthly targets by communicating clear expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results. Planning job run sequence for machines. Goals listed below.
- Able to overcome complex problems immediately to facilitate customer scheduling needs, then assist in determining a root cause, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Requires NPI training/authority for Machinist Leads.
- Holds all team members accountable to departmental procedures, company policies and guidelines
- Recruits, hires, and trains employees
- Develops new processes and creates training plans
- Creates and tracks shopfloor staffing plan
- Develops and mentors’ employees through training and offering growth opportunities for high achievers
- Implements cost-saving strategies and techniques. Lean and 5’s. Flows Program and Tooling improvement suggests to Programming group.
- Ensures that production plans are completed per the schedule
- Coordinates appropriate resources for equipment repair issues
- Counsels’ employees on how to achieve an optimal output or workflow
- Resolves issues and disputes between manufacturing employees
- Maintains Machine schedules by monitoring area workloads/available capacities and required staffing levels
- Communicates with and assists other manufacturing departments as needed
- Preventative maintenance, SPC and/or calibration of the production cnc equipment and probes in collaboration with maintenance and the NPI team
- Evaluates the condition of production equipment and communicates issues to Maintenance Department.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment for all workers
- Compiles and analyzes production records (Area outputs and Utilization reports)
- Real-time escalation line-downs and issues preventing the shop from meeting their goals
- Ensure all work in progress is monitored and that all final products are inspected for quality.
- Authorizes and allocates the staffing of production.
- Provides mentoring or assistance so that staff is effective in managing their areas, production scheduling and meeting team goals.
- Fills in for production leads in their absence.
- Create a department culture which supports the principles of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Growth.
- Process development / Engineering experience preferred
- Experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing Processes / Toyota Production System Methodologies (5s, Gemba walks, Six Sigma, reduction of waste (Muda, Muri, Mura), Kanban, SMED)
- Supervisor/Management Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Strong knowledge of GD&T
- Experienced with metal (stainless steel, titanium, aluminum) and plastics machining preferred
- Knowledgeable of CNC machine tools is preferred; CNC Horizontal and Vertical Mills, 5-Axis, Lathes, and EDM.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering (preferred). Equivalent work experience will be considered.
