What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Lathe Machinist position at Ascential Technologies?
Primary skills and responsibilities:
- Five years’ experience as a CNC Machinist I
- Setup and Run CNC Lathes (single turret, double turret, live tooling) with Okuma controls
- Knowledge of work holding ( i.e.. cutting jaws, clamping pressures)
- Knowledge of tooling, inserts
- Able to interpret blue prints and GD&T to produce parts from start to finish.
- Experience with G&M codes, program troubleshooting and editing. (Mastercam programming a plus but not necessary)
- Utilize precision measuring equipment to maintain accuracy and compliance to customer specifications
- Work with team members to resolve part processing, and programming issues
- Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
- Maintains specifications by observing all machining operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions in the program; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; replacing worn tools.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Aerospace experience a plus
- Follow quality standards to ensure parts are to the customer and company standards
- Ability to work independently, building fixtures, tooling and develop programs
