What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Engineer position at Ascential Technologies?
SUMMARY
A Facility Engineer will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and systems throughout the facility. This person must be comfortable working in a clean room setting and adhering to all required manufacturing and maintenance regulations. This person will take direct supervision from the Facility & Equipment Manager but must work with multiple functions (Quality, Ops, Manufacturing, etc.) to complete their work.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A qualified candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Troubleshoot production issues and repair/replace parts as needed.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on new, state of the art production equipment and Facility equipment.
- Assist with maintaining calibration schedules and communication with vendors.
- Effectively communicate maintenance schedules with management.
- Accurately document issues and resolutions in the quality management system (QMS).
- Communicate with 3rd party vendors or contractors.
- Assist with building maintenance.
- Assist in Commissioning/Qualification of Facility and Production equipment (protocols/execution/reports) and write SOPs related to equipment.
- Ability to stay organized and multi-task on various projects at one time.
- Perform a variety of other tasks as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology with a concentration in Robotics or other.
- 5 years of experience in a comparable industry/position.
- Previous experience working in a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis techniques.
- Strong understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMP) per FDA guidelines.
- Basic knowledge of PLCs.
- Experience troubleshooting robotics/automation.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and work independently.
