Position Summary:
The Advancement Manager will play a key role in driving the organization’s fundraising and marketing strategy by helping to streamline fundraising, marketing, and advocacy activities and processes. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Advancement Manager will focus on cultivating donor relationships, growing revenue from diverse sources, and coordinating Ascentria's development, marketing, and advocacy efforts during a time of heightened visibility and growth.
This role requires a proven, results-oriented professional with strong analytical, communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills. The Advancement Manager will collaborate across teams to enhance donor engagement, implement giving strategies, and support the advancement team in building a foundation of support for Ascentria’s work.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations and Process Improvement
- Facilitate and coordinate the day to day activities and projects of the advancement department.
- Oversee the management of grants and donor tracking systems.
- Ensure accurate and timely updates of donor and volunteer information in the donor database.
- Write donor-facing content and marketing materials to engage audiences and improve donor retention.
- Fundraising and Donor Engagement
- Grow revenue from diverse sources, including churches, foundations, government agencies, corporations, groups, and individuals.
- Develop donor profiles and foster relationships to increase support through individual and major gifts, planned giving, and philanthropic initiatives.
- Support leadership in donor engagement by facilitating strategic interactions and relationship management.
- Strategic Planning and Analytics
- Collaborate with the Advancement Team to establish fundraising goals and track progress using data-driven metrics.
- Use analytics to identify trends, forecast opportunities, and guide strategy.
- Event and Volunteer Management
- Plan and oversee fundraising events, securing sponsorships and expanding community engagement.
- Assist in volunteer management
- Collaboration and Advocacy
- Act as an ambassador for Ascentria, ensuring alignment with organizational values and increasing its visibility in the community.
- Work collaboratively across departments and with external partners to achieve advancement goals.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in fundraising, project management, client relationship management, marketing, or administrative roles required.
- Demonstrated success meeting annual fundraising targets, preferably in a social services setting.
- Experience effectively building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents, clients.
- Experience in event planning, project management and/or volunteer coordination (preferred).
Skills:
- Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent facilitation and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and website applications.
- Proficiency with donor databases such as Raiser’s Edge, wealth engines, and/or similar platforms.
- Ability to analyze and use statistical information for planning, donor cultivation, and moves management.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to review/edit work products to ensure accuracy and adherence to funding and reporting standards.
- Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential matters.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
