What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Systems Administrator- IT position at Ascentria Care Alliance?
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Information Technology, the Junior Systems Administrator is responsible for end user technical support and systems administration throughout the entire Ascentria infrastructure. Support issues will range from initial system setup (including hardware and software for desktops, laptops, and smartphones) to troubleshooting application issues, to basic server side support.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Deliver IT support to users, configure and maintain workstations
- Install, configure and maintain hardware, network software, operating system software, software applications as well as various computing devices
- Maintain documentation and Knowledge base
- Address network downtime and outages
- Assist in various projects and implementations
- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary
- Provide Tier II, III/other support per request from Helpdesk staff. Investigate and troubleshoot issues
- Maintain awareness of advances in information technology and recommend modifications to systems
- Follow established practices and standards for workstation configurations, naming conventions, and other established procedures.
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Technology or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 1 - 3 years’ experience installing operating systems and applications, installing and troubleshooting hardware, operating systems and office productivity software required.
- Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft architecture including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCPIP and LAN/WAN/VPN technologies is desired.
- 1 -3 years’ experience with Mobile Communications Devices desirable.
- Office 365 administration and support a plus.
- Requires some evening and weekend, sometimes with little advanced notice and travel throughout New England on occasion
