This role will be key in managing and support Ascot Group systems and platforms. We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer and Site Reliability Engineer with a robust foundation in Microsoft Azure, complemented by extensive expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL). The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing and maintaining a comprehensive suite of Azure services, specializing in Azure Modern Platform Services, including Data Lake, Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse along with other Azure infrastructure. A proven track record in implementing Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, YAML, Terraform, and Bicep for efficient infrastructure management is essential. The candidate should also be adept in Azure Automation and PowerShell scripting, with experience in PowerApps and Master Data Management (MDS).

Essential Functions And Basic Duties
- Analyze network data and infrastructure to determine inefficiencies and problems.
- Oversee the development, installation, configuration and administration of computer systems.
- Produce and maintain detailed documentation.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and develop effective solutions.
- Train the wider IT team on new systems and best practices.
- Keep abreast of the latest advancements in technology and best practices.
- Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps best practices into projects.
- 3 years of DevOps support and engineering, Azure cloud and Azure DevOps experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
- Experience with data center, network, cloud, systems, and related infrastructure technologies
- Knowledge of engineering best practices, architecture principles, and roadmaps
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of infrastructure trends, challenges, and innovations.
- Insurance industry experience is a plus, but operational excellence in other industries is sufficient.
- Microsoft Azure: Proficient in managing and maintaining a comprehensive suite of Azure services, including Data Lake, Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse.
- SQL Server: Extensive expertise in SQL Server.
- Azure DevOps: Proven track record in implementing Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, YAML and IaC using Terraform and Bicep for efficient infrastructure management.
- Automation: Adept in Azure Automation and PowerShell scripting.
- PowerApps and Master Data Management (MDS): Experience in PowerApps and MDS.
- Monitoring and Alerting: Introduced robust monitoring and alerting across multiple project-critical infrastructure.
- Stakeholder Management: Successfully managed expectations and forged strong client relationships.
- Training and Leadership: Designed and delivered team training sessions, facilitating seamless adoption of new CI/CD platform and GitOps methodologies.
