Job Summary
The Senior Business Systems Analyst role is integral to the launch of specialty lines products and closely aligned with IT. Combines business experience and understanding of insurance underwriting and claims, analytical and technical methods to generate a variety of project materials that support the implementation / modification of small, medium or large-scale product launches across the organization. Serves as a liaison between the business partners and both internal and external technical teams. Works closely with the business units, product counsel, subject matter experts, technical resources and the product/program team to identify, analyze, validate and verify business requirements to satisfy business underwriting, system functions, and overall business priorities.

Job Responsibilities
- Performs in a Business Analyst role and is responsible for monitoring and coordinating implementation of small, medium or large-scale UW product launches throughout the organization, utilizing BA principles and tools.
- Leads and performs requirements analysis, validation and verification, ensuring that requirement documents are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible and unambiguous.
- Utilizes a variety of techniques and tools to elicit business / system requirements – including interviews, surveys, requirements workshops, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
- Combines business and technical knowledge to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with business and technical stakeholders to define and document business and/or system requirements in accordance with defined standards and methodologies.
- Facilitates business planning and prioritization of requirements based on business value.
- Possesses the ability to lead internal/external teams as necessary.
- Suggests improvements / solutions that enhance existing business processes.
- Contributes to creation of test plans/matrices/criteria to facilitate quality assurance / acceptance testing of system deliverables.
- Augments and supports business regarding problem identification, mitigation and resolution of issues pertaining to product functionality and configuration within the system.
- Performs quality assurance / acceptance testing of system deliverables as required.
- Capable of performing data analysis using a variety of tools as necessary.
- Drive change management initiatives by identifying gaps and creating efficiencies in the execution of launch tasks and efforts.
- Develop process documentation and training materials as well as conducts training as required for new products and system implementations, enhancements or modifications.
- Work closely with the SI partners and lead/manage deliverables
- Minimum of 5 years' work experience in business analyst role, supporting business operations and/or systems implementations.
- Bachelor's degree in business and/or technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered along with professional certifications are a plus (CPCU, PMI-PBA, IIBA).
- Knowledge of insurance industry with understanding of Underwriting, Financial and Claims operations desired in one or all of the following – Commercial P&C, Professional Liability, and Workers Compensation lines.
- Ability to express ideas clearly, effectively and professionally in both verbal and written communication.
- Excellent project, organizational and time management skills with ability to handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Prior experience in insurance operations (underwriting, financial or claims) a plus.
- Understanding of insurance needs associated with underwriting and claims business models a plus.
- Ability to function in a professional office environment and utilize standard office equipment.
