Job Summary
The Chair of the Division of Dermatology will lead a committed staff in maintaining clinical excellence while developing and reporting on innovations in patient care for a large, high-risk patient population. Responsibilities include overseeing a group of attending physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, and support staff to provide state-of-the-art clinical care in Dermatology for Cook County Health (CCH) within its hospitals and ambulatory care network. The role includes management of the ACGME accredited training program for residents and medical students during their rotations and participation in Division of Dermatology research projects.
General Administrative Responsibilities
- Collective Bargaining : Review applicable agreements and consult with Labor Relations.
- Discipline : Document, recommend, and effectuate discipline at all levels.
- Supervision : Direct and effectuate CCH management policies and practices.
- Management : Contribute to staff management and systemic development.
Typical Duties
Clinical : Participate in inpatient and outpatient care of Dermatology patients, maintaining an active clinical load of at least 60%.
Teaching and Training : Provide didactic and supervisory clinical training to medical students and residents.
Administrative : Oversee care processes in Dermatology clinics and participate in staffing processes.
Research : Guide the expansion of the Division’s clinical research portfolio.
