ASSEMBLER 2 - MADISON AL - IBCS Program Office / US Army IBCS Program Office / US Army Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and / or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and / or power tools, jigs, and saws. Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications. May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions. Assembly and integration of commercial off the shelf parts into DoD hardware. This includes the use of torque wrenches, hand tools, material handling equipment and routing of cables. Qualifications : Using torque wrenches, using hand tools, neatly routing and dressing cables. What non-technical skills are necessary (such as communication, problem solving, team player, i.e.)? follow written direction, communicate, team player What is the ideal candidate background including number of years’ experience? An individual who is driven to complete tasks in a consistent manner per written work instructions and will consistently show up with a desire to work. The technical aspects of the job are minimal – mostly integration and assembly. However, the end item with software and interconnected communications equipment is technical. Majority indoor work in temperature-controlled environment with some outdoor integration. Includes standing on concrete and pavement. Culture is cooperative and working together to accomplish tasks identified on the bar charts. Are there any certifications that the candidate must possess? There are no certifications required.
