We are seeking an experienced Substation Engineer to help us with our growing workload. The candidate should be self-driven and detail-oriented and thrive on taking ownership, quickly adapting to challenges, and solving problems. The position is onsite and located at our Dallas, TX office.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical layout / plan of substation equipment and structures
- Substation foundation layout / plan drawings
- Section / elevation views from layout / plan drawings
- Conduit layout / plan drawings
- Substation grounding layout / plan drawings
- Control building layout / plan and section / elevation drawings
- Develop a complete bill of materials for all required electrical equipment and materials.
- Review and comment on equipment drawings received from vendors and manufacturers.
- Work with other disciplines (e.g., Civil Engineers) as necessary to complete assigned work
- Review preliminary designs
- Perform project-related preliminary and pre-commissioning inspection site visits, including periodic travel to meet clients in the DFW area
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles to research, design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements and generate technical reports
- Confer with the design team to incorporate design information and client standards into the construction documents
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Testing and commissioning of equipment and relays’ experience is preferred
