Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation logistics, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining effective communication with drivers and clients. This role is crucial in optimizing our supply chain operations and requires a strong understanding of transportation management systems.
Duties
- Manage daily dispatch operations, including scheduling and routing of shipments.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments and analyze data for efficiency improvements.
- Communicate effectively with drivers to provide updates on routes and delivery schedules.
- Perform data entry tasks to maintain accurate records of shipments and fleet status.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers to ensure seamless transportation planning and execution.
- Analyze transportation metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement in fleet management.
- Maintain high standards of phone etiquette while interacting with clients and team members.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during dispatch operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dispatching or logistics is preferred.
- Familiarity with Oracle Transportation Management or similar software is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data related to supply chain operations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of transportation planning principles and fleet management practices is beneficial.
- Proficient in data entry and comfortable using various computer applications related to logistics.
