ASGCO has a General Laborer. This applicant must be able to maintain high quality work, high level of attention to detail while ensuring personal productivity and safe operation of the machinery. The right candidate must be able to take ownership of the area, keep it organized neat and clean. Responsibilities:
- Use power tools, hand tools, and accurately use and read measuring tools
- Drive company vehicle when needed
- Reviews and interprets written work instructions
- Operates band saws and other fabrication shop machinery as required
- Ability to utilize fabrication equipment such as: belt sander, drill press, bench grinder, hand tools, measuring tools etc.
- Effectively prioritize workloads and use of available resources within time constraints
- Assists with keeping the shop in an orderly and clean state, following all company safety procedures
- Must be able to move steel materials utilizing physical strength, forklifts, slings and straps
- Responsible for quality control of all jobs and orders
- Operate a company vehicle
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Basic math skills
- Prioritize workloads
- Experience and/or previous training in a metal fabrication shop setting
- Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule forms such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals
- Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations
- Candidates must pass a background check, drug screen and other job requirements
- Valid Driver's License
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 7a-3:30p
- Regularly scheduled breaks
- Weekends as needed
- Overtime opportunities as needed
Working Conditions:
- Frequently exposed to regulated noise, cold working conditions also exposed to smells that are within the guidelines
- Possible exposure extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles
- While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday
- Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, which may include a hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.
