Overview
We are seeking a passionate and creative Culinary professional to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who have a strong background in culinary arts and a desire to work with children & adults in an educational setting. The Culinary position involves planning and preparing meals and often time breads, cakes, pastries and other desserts, as well as engaging students in learning about different foods, cultures and kitchen skills. Candidates should possess a blend of culinary expertise and an upbeat, social personality to keep students of all ages engaged.
Duties
- Plan menus and curriculums that incorporate seasonal ingredients and promote student interest and intrigue in students of all ages from childhood through adults.
- Teach children, teens & adults basic cooking skills along with specific menus of different cultures and food options through hands-on activities.
- Collaborate with educators to integrate culinary lessons into the overall curriculum, including lesson planning related to food and nutrition.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations, this is a must!
- Assist in managing classroom behavior during culinary activities, ensuring a positive learning experience for all students.
- Engage with children in a manner that fosters their interest in cooking, food preparation, and healthy eating choices.
- Help plan and maintain events both on campus and possible off campus for food related holiday, birthday, and private party celebrations.
Qualifications
- Strong culinary skills with experience in meal preparation and cooking for large groups.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, particularly related to preschool-age children.
- Experience or familiarity with special education practices is a plus.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that incorporate cooking and nutrition education.
- Experience in classroom management or behavior management techniques is desirable.
- A passion for working with children and promoting healthy lifestyles through culinary arts.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
