Job Summary :

We are looking for a dynamic and energetic individual with a background in construction to join our team as a Construction Project Supervisor. This role requires a hands-on leader who is capable of directing multiple teams to successfully complete tasks and projects on time, while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a solid construction background, and the ability to manage personnel effectively across various stages of construction projects. This role involves direct oversight of all on-site activities, ensuring that the project adheres to design specifications, timelines, and budget constraints while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Project Oversight :

o Accountable for all aspects of the project. Delegates work and is the last one to review the task or deliverable before it’s deemed complete.

o Lead and manage all construction activities on-site projects, ensuring they align with the project’s goals and specifications.

o Develop and implement daily construction schedules, effectively allocating resources and managing workforce dynamics.

o Assist the Project Manager in preparing progress reports and updates.

o Ensure that all materials and equipment are available and in good condition for ongoing work.

o Foster a positive working environment and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders.

o Provide detailed daily reports with photos (before and after) daily work. This report will be published daily to the entire team for situational awareness and future coordination.

2. Coordination with Stakeholders :

o Serve as the primary point of contact for subcontractors, suppliers, and tradespeople; facilitate communication to ensure smooth workflow.

o Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to address design and construction challenges promptly.

3. Quality Control :

o Conduct regular inspections of work performed by subcontractors to ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards.

o Maintain meticulous documentation of project progress, quality issues, and any corrective actions taken.

4. Safety Management :

o Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and best practices on the job site.

o Conduct safety meetings and training sessions, ensuring that all personnel are informed about safety protocols.

o Ensure that each contractor cleans their workspace daily and conducts a weekly walkthrough inspection to provide guidance to the contractors.

5. Problem-Solving :

o Utilize digital notes on drawings and photos. Use of this tool is imperative for collaboration with our team and contractors. Handwritten notes are useful but we will leverage the technology to allow for better communication.

o Identify potential issues early and develop effective solutions to mitigate risks and prevent delays.

o Coordinate changes to project scope, schedule, and budget with the Project Manager, ensuring all stakeholders are informed.

6. Budget and Resource Management :

o Monitor project expenditures and resource usage to ensure alignment with the budget; report any discrepancies to the Project Manager.

o Order materials and equipment as needed, managing inventory and ensuring timely delivery to keep the project on track.

o Inventory and photograph all deliveries to ensure the correct quantities arrive and are in good condition and not damaged. Report any discrepancies to the Project Manager.

7. Timeline Management :

o Track progress against the project timeline, adjusting schedules as necessary to meet deadlines. Synchronize all operations out at least 2 weeks.

o Prepare and present regular progress reports to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.

8. Final Inspection and Handover :

o Oversee the final inspection of the project, ensuring that all work meets quality standards and is completed to satisfaction.

o Facilitate the handover process to the client, including the compilation of all necessary documentation and warranties.

Qualifications :

  • Experience :

o Experience as a leader.

o Proven track record of successfully managing projects from inception to completion.

  • Technical Skills :
  • o Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes specific to the hotel industry.

    o Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications.

    o Use of Procore or associated program to support project management is highly recommended.

  • Leadership Skills :
  • o Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.

    o Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, fostering a collaborative working environment.

  • Education :
  • o Degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.

  • Certifications :
  • o Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, PMP, LEED) are a plus but not required at this point.

    Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials as needed and be comfortable working at heights.
