MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma, or general equivalency diploma (GED), with one year experience in mental health service; and
- Current Fingerprint Clearance Card through Arizona Department of Public Safety; and
- CPR, First Aid; and
- Valid Arizona Drivers License.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
The Behavioral Health Technician must be task oriented and be able to handle multiple assignments at a time.
The Behavioral Health Technician must also have the willingness and ability to work under situations and times of extreme stress in a highly charged human services environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Responsible for supportive protective oversight and behavior management of resident children/youth
- Provide treatment that promotes resident dignity, independence, individuality, strengths, privacy, and choice.
- Recognize obvious symptoms of mental disorders, personality disorders or substance abuse.
- Recognize and respect cultural differences.
- Protect and maintain the confidentiality of resident records and information, in accordance with HIPAA
- Recognize, prevent, and respond to situations in which a resident; may be a danger to self or others, behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner, may be experiencing a crisis situation or may be experiencing a medical emergency.
- Read and implement resident's treatment plan.
- Ensure resident’s receive self-administrated medications; identify types of medication prescribed for mental disorders, personality disorders, and substance abuse and the common side effects and adverse reactions for the medications.
- Provide resident's therapeutic services, independent living skill training, and appropriate life skills training.
- Coordinate and facilitate resident's social and recreational activities.
- Ensure Consumers attend formal education or educational enhancement training.
- Prepare meals for residents.
- Prepare and update facility menu
- Provide resident's transportation to outside therapeutic services.
- Prepare daily case notes and document resident's progress and regression.
- Overnight shifts are awake positions and behavioral health technicians must be able to stay alert and awake, and complete all job duties assigned.
- Additional duties as assigned

Pay: $30,160.00 - $33,280.00 per year
