JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for assuring safe and secure evening shelter program operations
Job duties/responsibilities:
- Assist clients in every aspect of their individualized care plans
- Provide a full range of case management services to shelter residents, including but not limited to:
o Crisis counseling
o Education about the dynamics of domestic and other violence
o Information about and referrals to community organizations
- Maintain casework system and files, provides statistical data and other information
- Provide residents with supportive services and available community resources
- Conduct intakes, assigns bed space, performs orientation, explains rules and responsibilities, and issues personal needs items
- Conduct exit interview, completes exit forms, and supervises resident’s exit during shift
- Respond to all emergencies in accordance with Safe Home procedures
- Provide shelter residents with transportation and appropriate language and culturally sensitive accompaniment
- Report items in need of repair, replacement, or purchase to supervisor
- Maintain data as needed for reports required by funding sources
- Conduct daily Safe Home duties as outlined and/or assigned by Shelter Coordinator
- Perform other duties as assigned that promote AshaKiran’s vision, mission, and best practices
- Maintain confidential client program records
- Keep a clean and hygienic workspace and assigned areas
- Enter data into OSNIUM or other related data system
- Maintain data for monthly Direct Services report (services provided and clients served)
- Fill and sign timesheets and monthly reports
- Answer, provide response and document the crisis line calls

Required qualifications, education & experience:
- High school degree/G.E.D. required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human services field preferred
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Bilingual or multilingual is preferred
- Upon hire, completion of required program trainings
Working conditions & expectations:

- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds

- Willingness to utilize privately owned automobile in job performance
- Willingness to drive company vehicles and added to the organization’s auto insurance
