JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for providing comprehensive social work services to survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking residing in the shelter. Additionally, this role involves supervision of a team of Case Managers to ensure high quality support and advocacy for shelter residents. The Social Worker plays a critical role in addressing the complex needs of survivors and empowering them to achieve safety, healing, and self-sufficiency.
Job duties/responsibilities:
Direct Client Services:
oOperate according to the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics
oConduct intake assessments and develop individualized service plans for shelter residents, addressing their safety, housing, legal, medical, and emotional needs.
oProvide crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, and support services to survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking
oCollaborate with internal and external partners to coordinate referrals for legal assistance, counseling, housing, healthcare and other support services
oEmpower survivors to develop safety plans and make informed decisions about their lives
oPromote a culturally supportive atmosphere in shelter
oEnsure Shelter Standards compliance
Residential Program:
oCollaborate with the Director of Operations and Shelter Coordination to make recommendations for program enhancement and innovations based on client needs, best practices, and emerging trends in the fields of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault
and Human Trafficking
oParticipate in weekly case review sessions with the Shelter Coordinator
oEnter data into OSNIUM or other related data system
oMaintain data for monthly Direct Services report (services provided and clients served)
oUpkeep and ensure Case Notes and files are up to date
Staff Supervision and Training:
oSupervise a team of Case Managers, providing guidance, support, and oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to shelter residents
oConduct regular individual and group supervision meetings with Case Managers to review client cases, address challenges, and provide professional development opportunities
oEnsure with Shelter Coordinator’s assistance that trainings (mandatory and additional) for Case Managers are up to date and completed.
oPromote accountability, performance and best practices
oReview Case Managers timesheets and monthly reports
Case Management Oversight:
oReview and approve individualized service plans developed by Case Managers, ensuring alignment with best practices and organizational policies
oMonitor the progress of client cases and provide consultation and support to Case Managers in addressing complex or challenging situations
oEnsure accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, service provision, and case management activities in accordance with agency standards and confidentiality requirements
Community Involvement:
oRepresent the shelter at community events, conferences and meetings to raise awareness about Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking issues and promote the services available at the shelter
oBuild and Maintain partnerships with local service providers, government agencies, and advocacy organizations to enhance access to resources and support for survivors
oAttend meetings assigned by Director of Operations with community partners
Documentation and Reporting:
oEnsure maintenance of accurate and confidential client records, including intake assessments, service plans, case notes and case management activities
oEnsure casework system, files, statistical data and other information is being maintained
oEnsure compliance with agency policies, procedures and confidentiality standards in all documentation and communication
oPrepare reports and documentation as required by agency policies and procedures, funding, regulatory agencies, and organizational stakeholders
oAccurate and timely documentation of client interactions, service provision, and case management activities in accordance with agency standards and confidentiality requirements
oEnter data into OSNIUM or other related data system
oMaintain data for monthly Direct Services Report (services provided and clients served)
oAnswer, provide response and document the crisis line calls

Required qualifications, education, and experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, or related field
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or eligibility for licensure preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience providing Social Work services to survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking
- Domestic violence shelter work experience preferred
- Previous experience in case management and supervision
- Experience in leading diverse work teams
- Bilingual or multilingual fluency preferred
- Valid Driver’s license and a privately owned and insured automobile
- Upon hire, completion of required program trainings
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
Working conditions and expectations:
