Middle School Math Teacher

Job Summary

Ashbrook Independent School is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and creative Math Teacher to teach in the Middle School that serves 5th through 8th grade students. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The Middle School Math Teacher will:

• Teach middle school math classes as well as elective classes. Math classes could include Geometry, Algebra 1, and Pre-Algebra.  Class sizes are very small and students are eager to learn!
• Plan flexible learning opportunities and curriculum to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further education.
• Create and maintain a positive and caring classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth to motivate students to become lifelong learners.
• Supervise and ensure the safety and health of children in the classroom.
• Collaborate with staff within the middle school program as well as with other staff throughout the school.
• Communicate proactively and positively with parents.
• Perform other related duties as required.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate teaching strategies and curriculum designed to promote learning for middle school students.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Able to use current instructional technology.
• PREFERRED: A minimum of two years of successful teaching experience in a math classroom.

Compensation

Salary will be determined by experience and degree level in accordance with the current salary schedule.
