What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assemble & Set Control Instrument Switch position at Ashcroft Brand?
1st Shift 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assembles and sets products, such as gauges, switches, controls, thermometers, valves, or special instruments, including complex products with multiple calibration adjustments partially or completely, working at bench or on shop floor by performing the following duties:
- Assures process outputs meet relevant specifications;
- Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled, following blueprints and written work instructions;
- Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners or other precision instruments;
- Operates drill presses, punch presses, pressure stands, automatic welding machines, or calibration stands; and
- Performs operations such as assembling, electrical wiring, soldering, labeling and calibrating on various products, including complex products with multiple calibration adjustments via a mechanical mechanism to provide adjustable deadband, dual independent setpoints or other multiple outputs, such as current G, L and P-Series switches; and
- Disassembles whole assemblies for salvage of parts.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE, SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), technical or vocational school preferred;
Good verbal and written communication skills, plus good basic math skills;
Four to six months machine operating experience required
Fabrication experience a plus; and
Basic computer skills required.
