What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Translator - Japanese position at Ashcroft Brand?
Perform verbal and written translation services in both the English and Japanese languages for the executive management of Ashcroft. Facilitate communication with Ashcroft’s parent Company, Japanese business partners and customers. Translate business emails, documents and presentations. Act as a verbal translator in meetings and teleconferences.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Translate/edit written and verbal communications from English to Japanese and vice versa with fluency and accuracy.
- Japanese/English Translator must be detail oriented and highly flexible in order to excel in the diverse responsibilities and tasks required. Flexible work schedule includes attending meetings to coincide with Japan time zone. Some days may requires 10AM-7PM work day.
- Translate speech/text by listening to speaker, understanding the thoughts expressed; incorporating culture influence, consulting other sources as necessary; explaining the thought in target language while simultaneously listening to next statement.
- Issue meeting minutes in English and Japanese for NKS/Ashcroft meetings and discussions.
- Travel to Japan and other countries for support and translation. Average of two trips to Japan per year.
- Support Sr. VP with coordinating events with NKS, including teleconferences, meetings and materials.
- Assist with NKS visitors to US and other Ashcroft locations.
- Management of critical and confidential information is required.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERTISE AND/OR ABILITIES CONSISTENTLY REQUIRED

Degree level education or equivalent in business

Fluent English and Japanese language skills.

Strong background in professional business Japanese and English translation work.

Demonstrated experience translating for senior level business executives.

Excellent writing skills in both languages with demonstrated knowledge of grammar, syntax and tone.

Proven translation skills with experience in business, technical, finance and legal subject areas.

Expert computer skills including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

Ability to travel approximately to Japan and other international locations as required.

Flexible work schedule to allow for global meeting times.
