Hours:1st shift, Monday through Friday | No Supervisory Responsibilities | No Travel | Pay commensurate with experience
Full Time, day shift in the Nursing Administration Department.
JOB SUMMARY:
Assists the Chief Nursing Officer. Performs responsible secretarial and record keeping activities. Conducts concurrent quality improvement clinical documentation audits. Adheres to general hospital standards to promote a cooperative working environment by utilizing communication skills, excellent interpersonal relationships and team building. Assists members of Nursing Leadership Council with clerical skills.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education:
Ø Medical Office Assistant experience preferred.
Ø Associate degree in a Business Administration or related field preferred.
Ø Knowledge of general clerical skills.
Experience:
Ø Proficient Microsoft Office required.
Ø Proficient with medical terminology required.
Ø Experience with reviewing medical records preferred.
Ø Previous secretarial in an executive environment experience preferred.
License/Certifications:
Ø Current BLS Certification required.
Ø Certified Nursing Assistant.
Administrative Assistant Chief Nursing Officer:
To assist the Chief Nursing Officer in clinical chart audits and clerical needs. In addition, other duties include (but are not limited to):
- Conducts quality improvement clinical documentation chart audits.
- Assists with nursing payroll functions.
- Supports the Senior Leadership Team and assists the CEO, CFO, COO, CNO, Compliance Officer, Nurse Leadership Committee, and all CNO reporting departments.
- Records and transcribes minutes.
- Types and retains all confidential material – letters, memos, monthly reports, minutes, contracts, agreements, etc. Creates and drafts letters and memos when requested.
- Answers telephone in a prompt and courteous manner, screens incoming calls to CNO, and responds to routine inquiries in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner.
- Coordinates arrangements for seminars, workshops and conferences.
- Distributes mail and communicates in a timely manner for CNO.
- Keeps policy and communication books up-to-date.
- Notifies staff about in services and communications.
- Assists with the collection and tabulation of clinical data.
- Serves on committees as appropriate.
- Assists CNO with any special projects.
- Demonstrates management and organizational skills.
- Is knowledgeable about Ashe Memorial Hospital activities and community resources with the ability and enthusiasm to learn new approaches in obtaining support for Ashe Memorial Hospital.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
