Hours: 2nd Shift, days will vary | No Supervisory Responsibilities | No Travel | Pay commensurate with experience.

JOB SUMMARY:
Our Nursing team member’s primary goal is to provide the most remarkable patient experience while providing professional nursing services and patient care in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. The House Supervisor collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team to provide physical and psychological support to patients and families. The House Supervisor functions as an advisor, resource, preceptor and leader for other members of the healthcare team. He/She facilitates and coordinates bed flow and manages staff resources while overseeing the day to day operation of the acute care areas.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: 5 years of previous clinical experience in nursing preferred.
License/Certifications:
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of NC.
- Current BLS Certification.
- ACLS certification obtained within 6 months of hire.
- PALS certification obtained within 6 months of hire.
- NRP Certification preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
House Supervisor, RN facilitates and coordinates patient care in the acute care areas. In addition to general nursing care, responsibilities of the House Supervisor include (but are not limited to):
- Makes patient care assignments based on patient care needs and competency of available staff.
- Assists with staff development during orientation.
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients, families, friends and staff.
- Observes, supervises and evaluates nursing care.
- Rounds on patients to ensure remarkable nursing care is being provided.
- Accountable for smooth operations of departments throughout the hospital during scheduled shift.
- Communicates routinely with nursing personnel, physicians, and staff members regarding problems throughout the hospital during scheduled shift.
- Assist with completion of Acute Care area schedules and staffing.
- Participates in Quality Improvement activities and reports findings to Director of Clinical Services.
- Schedules staff according to patient census and department needs.
- Collaborates with Nursing Leadership council to develop goals for Nursing Service.
- Manages interpersonal relationships with nursing personnel in a way to enhance labor relations among staff.
- Works with Director of inpatient services to develop and review nursing policies and procedures.
- Makes decisions in matters requiring prompt attention. Consults with Administrator on Call after hours and with the Director of inpatient services.
- Serves as a role model by demonstrating compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Provides relief for breaks and lunch for clinical nursing staff.
- Functions as a staff nurse when needed.
- Responds to emergency situations.
Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations (i.e., flu shot, etc.).
