Full Time, first shift, Physical Therapy
JOB SUMMARY:
The Physical Therapist Assistant functions as a member of the rehabilitation team by providing physical therapy services as outlined in the plan of care, and under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience preferred. Pediatrics experience preferred.
License/Certifications:
- Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners to practice as an Assistant in the State of North Carolina.
- Current BLS Certification.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides physical therapy treatments consistent with established procedures, protocols and training.
- Maintains quality and up-to-date clinical records.
- Utilizes time, resources and skills effectively to maintain productivity standards and safety standards.
- Reports patient progress to the therapist responsible for the patient’s evaluation on a timely basis.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service programs.
- Provides customer service that is supportive of the Hospital’s Mission Statement.
- Demonstrates competency in caring for patients throughout the life cycle to include neonate through geriatric patients.
- Geriatric patients with Alzheimer’s: describe 3 or more symptoms or characteristics of Alzheimer’s syndrome, and describe patient restraint policy for patients in hospital and nursing home.
- Crutch walking for child with fractured ankle and ORIF: demonstrates ability to properly fit crutches and to explain non-weight-bearing, touchdown weight-bearing and full weight-bearing techniques.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations (i.e., flu shot, etc.).
