Job Description:
Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity is seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to join our Volunteer Services team in support of the Disaster Home Repair program. This position will report to the Volunteer Manager of Construction Services. This team is focused on restoring safety and livable housing for residents of Buncombe and Madison Counties. The Volunteer Associate will be responsible for organizing volunteer labor crews into the project workflow and tracking volunteer data.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Volunteer Coordination & Scheduling:
- Develop an intake process to efficiently manage volunteer inquires.
- Work collaboratively with Construction Services Volunteer Manager to schedule volunteer teams.
- Serve as primary contact for incoming groups, communicating all project details and changes on a timely basis.
- Assist with partner referrals.
- Track volunteer contributions and share weekly updates with Construction Services Volunteer Manager.
- Report monthly on volunteer feedback.
- Organize ways to acknowledge volunteers and demonstrate appreciation on a regular basis.
- Work closely with home repair managers to align volunteer efforts with project priorities and ensure efficient coordination.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer waivers, sign-in sheets, expenses, etc. to ensure compliance with funding and affiliate guidelines.
- Assist in reporting and documentation as needed.
- Recruit and engage volunteers, community groups, and partner organizations to expand the volunteer base.
- Provide training and orientation to volunteers to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality in home repair work.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support the success of home repair initiatives.
- Experience in volunteer coordination, construction, home repair, or project management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and volunteers effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and instruct volunteers
Ability to work collaboratively with team while also demonstrating independence in managing responsibilities. - Proficiency in data tracking and reporting.
