Job Description Summary
Serves as the welcoming first point of contact to current and prospective students and assists them in attaining their educational goals. Serves the public and creates goodwill through the community and the College.
Duties
1. Serves as a representative of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in Madison County.
2. Consults with prospective students and disseminates accurate information about Curriculum and Continuing Education classes and programs, scholarships, campus events and opportunities. Uses daily applications to contact prospective students.
3. Performs Curriculum and Continuing Education application, registration, and provides information and assistance on orientations, textbook sales and reconciliations, and tuition collection processes and reconciliations.
4. Maintains files for Curriculum and Continuing Education.
5. Administers placement testing for continuing education and curriculum applicants.
6. Maintains database for continuing education course offerings. Contacts students on waitlist and interest list as courses are scheduled.
7. Schedules facility for classes, civic groups, and organizations.
8. Performs general administrative and receptionist services including greeting students and other visitors, answering telephones. Performs data entry and duplicating for instructors.
9. Performs basic library operations.
10. Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
11. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements)
1. Associate degree;
2. One year of part-time or equivalent work experience performing administrative assistant duties;
3. One year of part-time or equivalent direct customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications
1. One year of part-time or equivalent experience working in an educational setting.
2. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.

Your total compensation goes beyond this maximum salary. Your A-B Tech benefits represent nearly 30% of your total compensation.
