About the Role
As a Sales Associate, you’ll play a key role in helping customers find the right e-bike and accessories while generating revenue that supports the shop’s success. Although these e-bikes sell themselves, you must be fully confident in your ability to close sales and motivated by commissions and upselling accessories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement & Sales: Assist walk-in customers by understanding their needs and recommending the right bike and accessories.
- Product Knowledge: Learn the bikes we carry, including technical specs, rider fit, and operational features.
- Test Rides & Demonstrations: Set up test rides and ensure customers feel comfortable and informed.
- Accessory Sales: Proactively recommend bike racks, accessories, and add-ons.
- Customer Experience: Provide a welcoming, supportive shopping experience—sell the e-bike lifestyle, not just the product!
- Sales Support Tasks: Answer phones during slow periods, stock accessories, and help with light cleaning tasks.
What We’re Looking For
- Retail sales experience required (phone sales experience is a huge plus).
- Customer service experience is a plus.
- Experience in the bicycle industry and/or a passion for e-bikes is ideal.
- Confident closer who thrives on commissions & upselling.
- Friendly, outgoing, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment & Schedule
- In-store, hands-on role at our shop in Haw Creek, Asheville.
- Some weekend & holiday shifts required (we are a retail business).
- Standing for most of the day.
- Frequent handling and movement of bikes weighing 60 lbs.
- Test rides require time outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Possible offsite work for events.
- 2-week training period for all new hires.
