Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient care as well as a willingness to learn new skills and grow as an assistant.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take X-rays as directed by the dentist and ensure proper documentation of images.
- Record vital signs and maintain accurate medical documentation for each patient visit.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage patient scheduling, including follow-up appointments and reminders.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance patient experience and streamline office operations.
- Perform Scans with both Itero & PrimeScan.
- Designing & Completing PrimeScan Restorations including customized color blending
- Proficiency in Sterile Surgical Techniques
- PRF for Bone Grafting
- Assisting with SMART Amalgam Mercury Removal & donning appropriate PPE
- Understanding Treatment Planning & Discussion of Treatment Plans with patients
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is required, particularly in general dentistry or Oral Surgery
- Familiarity with Dentrix is a plus.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and protocols is essential.
- Ability to take X-rays and record vital signs accurately.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new techniques in prosthodontics, pediatrics, or other specialized areas of dentistry are desirable.
- A desire to expand your dental knowledge base into the holistic side of dentistry.
