Asheville Mall Security Guard

We are seeking a vigilant, professional Security Guard. As a mall security guard, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our patrons and employees. Candidates should be able to manage emergency situations while remaining calm and have a keen eye for detail to spot irregularities and be able to enforce rules within shopping mall premises.

· Have one to two years of security experience through an established security company.

· Be available to work shifts during days, evenings, weekends, and Holidays.

· Physical fitness and stamina to be able to stand and patrol for long hours.

· Excellent observation skills to notice unusual or suspicious activity within the mall premises.

· Problem-solving skills to quickly assess a situation and take appropriate action, often under stressful situations.

· Be capable of dealing with potentially dangerous situations and use de-escalation techniques to ensure the safety of patrons and employees.

· Be capable of interacting logically with youth when enforcing rules and policies.

· Possess strong communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact with mall visitors, employees, and emergency personnel.

· Have basic first aid knowledge and the ability to react quickly in crisis situations until professional medical assistance arrives on site.

• Conduct regular patrols, and stand in assigned Zones to ensure the security of the premises

• Complete and maintain records of security-related incidents

• Manage disturbances, which may involve interacting with the police

• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, alarms or calls for assistance

• Actively deter and detect any suspicious activity or security breaches

• Escort employees or visitors when required

• Enforce access control procedures by verifying personnel and visitor credentials

• Remove wrong doers or trespassers from area

• Secure all exits/doors after end of operations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
