Job Description for Evening Supervisor
The Evening Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of care is maintained at all times in the Nursing Department(s). This position reports to the Director of Health Services and Assistant Director of Health Services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the nursing service department.
- Makes written and oral reports/recommendations to the ADHS/DHS as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the nursing service department.
- Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of residents' total regimen of care.
- Initiates and manages reportables with communication and supervision from ED/DHS.
- Completes nursing admission assessment and baseline care planning for new admissions.
- Ensures daily skilled documentation is assigned and completed accurately.
- Supervises and oversees all resident care according to assessed resident status and established plan of care.
Requirements:
- Leadership and supervisory ability.
- Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
- Make independent decisions concerning job duties.
- Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, vendors, and the general public.
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Unencumbered LPN or RN license in the state they are working.
