What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Varsity Track & Field Coach position at Ashland Athletics?
Ashland High School is seeking an assistant varsity track and field coach for the 2025 season. Ashland’s coaches are actively engaged in the community, and embrace both the mission and values of the Athletic Department and APS School District.
The role of the assistant varsity track and field coach is to be responsible for coaching, character development and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork in track and field.
This job requires you to interact thoughtfully and respectfully with student athletes, fellow coaches, staff, parents and community and well as follow the mission of the school. Positive communication strategies, organizational skills, and safety awareness are key requirements. The assistant varsity track and field coach reports to the Athletic Director.
Requirements:
- Previous coaching and/or playing experience at the high school level or above is preferred.
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Available to practice after school, weekends and evenings
- Establish team goals, team rules, communicate these to all Commitment to program
- CPR/First Aid Certified Preferred
