Youth Justice Social Worker/Case Manager – Children & Families Unit
Ashland County Health & Human Services is currently accepting applications for a Children & Families Unit Social Worker. This position may include a variety of duties in Youth Justice: Conducting Intake Inquiries and YASI assessments for youth referred for delinquent behavior, providing recommendations to the District Attorney’s Office, providing written reports to the Court, and ongoing supervision for Youth on dispositional orders. The worker will provide backup in the unit and conduct Initial Assessments for CPS cases, taking reports of child abuse/neglect. The worker will evaluate and monitor safety of children in the home and out of the home, arrange and supervise out-of-home care placements, and prepare reports for family reunification or permanence of children. The social worker will also provide testimony in court when required, arrange supervised and unsupervised visitations between children and parents or guardians, and maintain client case records as required. After hours on-call rotation required.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or closely related field. Prior work experience in the child welfare or juvenile justice and/or experience in a human services related field is preferred. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
Salary is $23.18-$25.17/hr; based on experience. Four-day workweek (35 hours). Competitive fringe benefits package.
