What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educational Aide/Tutor position at Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center?
Qualifications: The Educational Aide/Tutor shall have a high school diploma and a valid Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education. A Math or English Teaching Certificate is preferred. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational, communications, behavioral management skills substantiated by training and work experience, and will be able to work with students, staff and the public.
Duties:
- Assists assigned students as scheduled, to plan, organize and implement activities that facilitate student learning in the classroom and online.
- Consults with classroom teachers to clarify student needs.
- Tracks and communicates program objectives/performance/progress expectations to students/parents.
- Clarifies and explains subject matters to help students understand concepts and gauge student's level of comprehension.
- Exemplifies professionalism that advances the district's public image.
- Helps students understand/embrace ethical conduct and values.
- Takes initiative to perform routine tasks independently.
- Maintains open/effective communications.
- Keeps current with technology and other skills associated with work assignments.
- Take precautions to ensure safety.
- Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Contract: 2025-2026 Contract - 184 contracted days during the school year, 7.00 hours per day.
Salary: Placement on the Appropriate Educational Aide Adopted Salary Schedule.
