Position: Secondary Principal
Location: Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center, 1783 State Route 60, Ashland, Ohio 44805
Certification: Ohio Superintendent Certification/Licensure preferred.
- Ohio High School Principal Certification/Licensure OTES 2.0/OPES Certified
- Master’s Degree and appropriate licensure/certificate through the Ohio Department of Education.
- Five (5) years administrative experience and up-to-date background in school law.
- Highly motivated, strong organizational, leadership, communication, human relations, classroom management, team and public relations/community, instructional and administrative skills.
Qualifications:
- Educational administration, curriculum/instruction and school finance skills substantiated by training and relevant work experience. Ability to influence the district's economic and cultural environment.
- Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
- Articulates a clear educational philosophy and sustainable implementation strategy.
- Communicates Effectively. Interprets information accurately and initiates effective responses.
- Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies and administrative guidelines/procedures.
- Exhibits consistent, impartial, resilient, and resourceful organizational management skills.
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
- Meets all mandated health-screening requirements.
Duties:
- Serves as head administrator and instructional leader. Plans, implements and directs the ongoing improvement of the school program.
- Exemplifies professionalism that advances the district's public image.
- Maintains open/effective communications.
- Pursues opportunities to enhance professional performance.
- Takes precautions to ensure safety.
- Performs other specific job-related duties directed.
Start Date: 2025-2026 School Year
Salary Range & Benefits: Appropriate placement on the Board adopted Administrative Salary Schedule based on certification/licensure, qualifications, education and experience.
Work Year: 260 days, July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026.
