What are the responsibilities and job description for the Produce Shift Leader position at Ashland Food Co–op?
SCHEDULE: Up to 40 hours per week, any shift or day, including weekends and holidays.
COMPENSATION: $17.50/hour, non-exempt

Job Summary: To assist in leading the daily operations of the Produce Department in accordance with department policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs frequently, up to 60 lbs. occasionally
- Stand and walk for the entire shift
- Be willing/able to work receiving and handling product in a 40° cooler for up to 6 hours per day
- Sit and review information on a computer screen or on paper for moderate periods of time (up to 2 hours a day with lunch and breaks)
General Responsibilities:
- Report potential issues or problems to Manager
- Maintain safe working conditions. Assist in training employees in department procedures and safe working procedures and monitor on a consistent basis
- Ensure all areas of department are clean and well-organized
- Assist in making sure that all department products are fully stocked and rotated to ensure freshness
- Assist in merchandising and resets
- Ensure maintenance of all displays
- Use signage, point-of-purchase, and recipe information to inform customers and to meet labeling requirement Ensure accurate inventory control of all products.
