Ashland Greenhouses has been known for locally grown, region specific plants since 1906. We grow 100% of the plant starts we sell. All of our plants are selected to do well in our unique climate. We are open to the public and serve individual gardeners, landscapers, and businesses. We also ship wholesale orders to independent garden centers, nurseries, and flower shops.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Store Stocker

Wage: $14.70/hour

The Store Stocker is responsible for keeping the retail shelves full of attractive, sale-ready plant material and for filling orders in a fast, friendly, and efficient manner, emphasizing that only a quality product is delivered to our customers. This is a high-energy job.

The person in this position:

· will operate an electric cart with a trailer safely

· must be able to bend and lift (up to 20#) repeatedly for 8 hours from ground to head level and be able to lift and maneuver up to 35 lbs intermittently.

· will work cooperatively with the retail and wholesale employees

· will remove and record non-quality plants and will sort, stack, and remove empty flats

· will maintain radio contact with retail staff and assist with ‘customer waiting’ sales and special orders

· will carry an updated stocker clipboard with plant location map and dump sheet

· will perform other greenhouse/production duties

· must be able to tolerate working outdoors in cold and hot conditions

· must be able to be physically active for 8 hours a day

This job requires the physical ability to perform a multitude of labor intensive jobs like; carrying flats (about 10 lbs), lifting flats, and balancing/walking down narrow paths/aisles. In between pulling orders responsibilities include, repetitively moving plants from one area to another, filling containers with soil, moving/hauling soil, lifting and hanging planted baskets, and other store tasks.

Must:

· Be able to lift up to 20 lbs repeatedly over an 8 hour day- from ground to head level and place from head to ground level.

· Plant identification skills highly recommended.

· Be able to safely operate an electronic cart pulling a trailer (golf cart style)

· Be detail oriented and organized.

· Tolerate working outdoors in cold and hot conditions, loud noise, wind, and dust.

Wage and Hours:

$14.70 hour

Shifts on weekdays and weekends. Weekend Availability a must.
