Job Description
Employer Relations
- Serves as a dedicated point of contact for employers to ensure they have a quality experience recruiting Ashland University students; responds to questions regarding Handshake, experiential learning, internship policies/procedures, and job search recruitment practices; provides information regarding recruitment procedures and policies to managers, college recruiters, and recruiting coordinators from public and private organizations.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with hiring managers/recruiters to stay abreast of current and future needs for co-ops, interns, and new graduates; discusses expanded recruitment options with employers to identify new employment opportunities, job postings, on-campus recruiting visits, participation in job fairs, information sessions, and advertisements.
- Explains recruitment options and processes to recruiters and managers; recommends strategies to promote awareness of the organization, available positions, and application process; monitors, reviews, and approves job postings.
- Monitors progress regarding employer development/relations activities (e.g., interview schedules and job and internship postings); collaborates with college liaisons and communicates with students to increase applications.
- Supports and enhances employer development/relations strategies, plans, and action items; assists in the development, planning, and implementation of a corporate recruitment program to increase employment and internship opportunities for students and alumni.
- Undertakes primary responsibility for collecting, managing, and evaluating recruitment data.
- Assists recruiters by identifying degree programs and academic majors at Ashland University suitable for their open positions.
- Delivers excellent customer service and represents the CCLC, greeting employers and making sure their needs are met for on-campus interviews, information sessions, and other recruiting events.
- Follows up with employers to obtain accurate information regarding new hires (e.g., student’s name, major, position, salary, hire date, etc.).
- Coordinate and deliver upon all employer/external events and operations, within the CCLC or co-sponsored events with any AU specific college.
- Market and recruit employers to networking events and/or on-campus interview opportunities
- Organize and implement student participation/attendance and campus buy-in of networking events
- Arrange and assess all Handshake needs, communications, and preparation for events and fairs (for students and employers)
- Effectively communicate with University partners to ensure catering, facility usage, IT, safety and parking needs, photography requests, and other pertinent needs.
Corporate Partners Program
- Assist in the leadership of the overall Eagle Community Partners program at Ashland University
- Build and support a sustainable network of businesses, corporations, and non-profit partners so as to not only support recruiting efforts on campus (through a tuition discount for staff members, their spouses and dependents), but also a mutually beneficial relationship with employer needs and direct correlation to current students.
- Drive a rigorous communication and educational approach with employers and future partners, to build rapport as well as share out benefits for their on-site talent.
- Manage multiple technology platforms and reporting tools to ensure partner communication, tuition discount input, and overall management of back-end verifications across campus partners.
- Coordinate and team with various stakeholders across AU’s campus to ensure cohesion, buy-in, and execution of succinct partner benefits, as well as collaboration for recruiting of future partners and students alike.
Internship Program Management
- Lead Event Planning & Execution – Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of career fairs, networking events, employer panels, and community engagement programs.
- Employer & Community Engagement – Develop and maintain relationships with employers, alumni, and community partners to enhance student career opportunities through events.
- Logistics & Operations Management – Manage event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, registration processes, and technology setup for in-person and virtual events.
- Marketing & Outreach – Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional materials, social media campaigns, and email outreach strategies to maximize event attendance.
- Data Tracking & Reporting – Collect and analyze event participation data, employer feedback, and student engagement metrics to assess event impact and improve future programming.
- Budget & Resource Allocation – Develop and manage event budgets, securing sponsorships and funding where applicable to ensure cost-effective event execution. Team Collaboration & Training – Work closely with career advisors, student staff, and volunteers, providing training and guidance to support successful event implementation.
Reporting
- Creates and implements evaluations, assessments, and focus groups for students and employers; conducts satisfaction surveys of constituents to assess opinions regarding the usability of services and resources.
- Develop customized reports from the database systems; prepare monthly, mid-year, and annual recruiting reports; generate data for campus and external reports/constituents.
- Monitors and generates data on job/internship postings, on-campus interviews, program participation, CCLC services/resources utilization, resume books, etc.
- Tracks co-op and internship data; creates and monitors benchmarks.
- Monitors, tracks and benchmarks CCLC social media outlets.
Student Engagement
- Meets individually with students in 15 weekly 30-minute career coaching and mock interview appointments to critique application materials and in the career and life-calling development process.
- Coordinates and conducts outreach activities to increase the number of students participating in cooperative education and internship experiences.
- Organizes outreach activities for the department.
- Oversee, coordinate, and mentor the CCLC student ambassador staff on daily office operations, as well as individual project work to enhance the services of the CCLC.
- Represent the CCLC for in-class or student organization workshops and/or presentations related to CCLC core services/offerings.
Career Center for Life Calling Representation and Other Duties
- Participates in Division/University committees and state, regional, and national associations.
- Produces, writes, and edits articles for recruiting publications; writes content for brochures and forms; develops procedural manuals/guides for specialized content areas; conducts specialized research.
- Develop content for CCLC social media outlets.
- Assists in the design and updates of the CCLC & ECP unit websites.
- Engages in rotational schedule with CCLC professional staff to represent the office at University, Admissions, Orientation and community events.
- Actively represent the CCLC to engage in individualized life calling conversations within the Office of Admissions, Military & Veteran Services, and Athletics for all prospective student/family visits to Ashland University.
