Job Description
The role of the Assistant Director of Doctor of Ministry and Field Education Coordinator is central for maintaining institutional and academic integrity in the delivery of academic degree programs. The position reports to the Assistant Dean and is an administrative faculty member. This is a 12-month appointment.
- Assist the Assistant Dean in the implementation of advanced academic programs such as the Doctor of Ministry degree program.
- Teach two (2) Doctor of Ministry courses.
- Assist the Assistant Dean in developing a growth and sustainability plan for current and new advanced degree programs for ATS.
- Coordinate the Field Education program for ATS.
- Attend and participate in Ashland Theological Seminary events, convocations, ceremonies, meetings, retreats, and student events as directed.
- Serve with faculty and participants on committees as directed.
- Continuing professional development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a PhD or Doctor of Ministry (ABD considered)
- Research skills and interest in a related theological discipline with the ability to integrate an interdisciplinary approach with a Christian worldview
- Possess a Master of Divinity, a comparable seminary degree, or the equivalent theological education and/or training
- Five (5) or more years of practical experience in Christian ministry in program administration, management, and leadership
- Possess strong evangelical faith and Christian character, and be able to support the Mission of Ashland Theological Seminary
- Possess leadership and administrative skills for ministry within a church and/or mission agency setting
- Knowledge of church and community systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Possess graduate-level teaching skills and experience in a seminary or a graduate school that is the equivalent to theological education instruction
- Possess skills to provide leadership in program planning, student learning assessment, and program evaluation in graduate theological education
Physical Demands
- Works in an office environment.
- Primarily engaged in sedentary work.
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Sitting most of the time. Walking or standing occasionally.
- Occasional travel.
- Worker is subject to inside environmental conditions.
